Hi I’m Forrest! Welcome to my newsletter!
I do a lot of different things - background design, concept art, game design, graphic design, comics, personal essay, topical writing, fiction, illustration, craft projects. I even want to do films. I jump between them all. It’s a lot. Often too much!
I’m trying to figure out the best way to share all the things I do with the world and I thought this might be a good place to start!
As the weeks go on you might find segments highlighting art I love, art I’m working on, or art I’ve finished. Segments like…

I will do my best to keep this a safe space for everyone.
Everything I’m posting is in the free tier for now, I might add paid subscriber bonus content later on once I figure this platform out more. If you choose to upgrade to a paid subscriber anyway and support me I will be truly grateful!
This will ALWAYS be an AI content free zone. Art is definitionally a human endeavor. AI “art” is not art. AI, in its current implementation, is theft, has horrible environmental impacts, worsens income inequality, makes people dumber, and is taking jobs from people.

Special Film Highlights
A few months ago I discovered this art film called “At Sea” by Peter Hutton that documents the birth, life, and death of container ships. I’m fascinated and horrified by global shipping, so this is right up my alley. Also, I really want a walking tour of a container ship. Let me know if you know anyone who can hook me up. I also would love to see the film in an actual theater or exhibit. The only way to see it right now is in 480p on youtube.
Note: The video has no music, so it can help to find a soundtrack to go with it. Maybe something like Claire De Lune for more mellow or a Trent Reznor film soundtrack for something more intense?
Here’s the film! ~

The Fairy Door Report
There’s a lot of fairy activity in our neighborhood these days! Last weekend I found more fairy doors. Keep a lookout in your area!
See you next time! 👋
